With the transition to the new Industrial Hemp Regulations and the new online application system, the Cannabis Tracking and Licensing System (CTLS), Health Canada announced that it is extending the validity period of existing licences to June 30th, 2019.

Many existing licence holders have not yet received their 2019-20 licence renewal.

New Applicants

If you are thinking about growing hemp this year, but have not decided yet, we suggest that you apply for your industrial hemp licence anyways. The application fee is only $10!

Implementation of Staggered Renewal Month System

Health Canada also announced that it will be implementing a staggered renewal month system to spread out the licence renewal process.

Apply Early for Licence Renewal

Preparing for the 2020/21 growing season, we encourage farmers to apply 3 - 6 months before your licence expiry date, to make sure you have enough time for the renewal process to be completed.
